What the company is
InterServer, Inc. describes itself as a cloud and bare metal infrastructure company that has been hosting since 1999. The about page says it was co-founded that year by Mike Lavrik and John Quaglieri, who started with a reseller account, and it calls the company privately operated, with hands-on technical leadership. Its services run in 3 US regions, the New York City metro area, Dallas and Los Angeles, and the about page says it runs its own network and facility operations.
For a site operator the company covers the full ladder: managed web hosting, cloud VPS, dedicated servers, large storage servers and colocation for hardware the customer owns. The home page also lists AI and GPU servers for inference, rendering and high-performance workloads. The terms say the company is located in the United States and that content is measured against US federal and state law and New Jersey local law.
What it sells an operator
Web hosting is the entry point. In October 2026 the home page lists standard hosting from $2.50 for the first month, and the site menu also names cPanel hosting, a website builder, e-commerce, email hosting and a reseller hosting product. Adult sites are not allowed on this tier, so for an adult operator the relevant products start at the VPS.
Cloud VPS is sold in slices, and a customer can order anything from 1 to 32 slices, each adding a fixed amount of CPU, memory, SSD storage and transfer. In October 2026 the VPS page lists the starter slice at $3 a month with 1 core, 2 GB of memory, 40 GB of SSD storage, 2 TB of transfer and a shared 10 Gbps port, and Windows Server with Remote Desktop from $10 a month. Storage VPS plans are a separate line. Control panels on offer are Webuzo, DirectAdmin, cPanel and Plesk, and the page lists one-click templates for WordPress, Magento, Joomla and PrestaShop. The VPS platform runs on KVM and Hyper-V, uses SSD storage in RAID-10 and carries a 99.9% uptime guarantee. Managed support is included from 8 slices upward. VPS billing is monthly only, with no quarterly or yearly discount.
Dedicated servers come as stocked "Buy It Now" machines and as custom builds where the customer picks CPU, memory, storage, bandwidth and location. In October 2026 the Buy It Now list starts at $125 a month for an AMD Ryzen 3600X with 64 GB of RAM, a 250 GB SSD, 2 TB of NVMe and a 1 Gbps unmetered port in the New York region. Network-level DDoS protection is included, IPMI, iLO or remote KVM access is offered depending on the hardware, and the dedicated page lists no setup fees, floating IPs, hardware firewall rules and BYOIP with BGP. Hardware varies by location and inventory.
Large storage servers are built around 20 TB or 24 TB SATA drives in a 12-bay chassis, with up to 288 TB of raw capacity before RAID or ZFS and an upgrade path from 6 to 12 drives. Hardware RAID is not included by default, and the page points customers to TrueNAS and ZFS instead. A standard build includes 1 IP address, a public 1 Gbps unmetered port, no setup fee and a provisioning window of 4 to 48 hours. Colocation is offered for a customer's own equipment, with space, power, bandwidth and hands-on data center support quoted on request.
For tube-style projects the app pages include a one-click ClipBucket video platform install. The ClipBucket page recommends Cloud VPS for pilots and dedicated servers for production video, and it tells buyers to plan moderation, copyright policy and abuse handling before opening public uploads.
The adult content policy
The terms state the rule in one line: adult content is not permitted on shared hosting, and on all other services websites must follow the 2257 regulations, which the terms describe as requiring producers of sexually explicit material to obtain proof of age for every model they shoot and to retain those records. A separate shared hosting list also bars tube and YouTube clone sites, file archives, mirror sites and image or file upload sites from that tier, and caps any single shared account at 20% of server resources and 400,000 inodes.
On every service the terms ban revenge porn, gore, zoophilia, content made without the consent of the people shown, and content that appears to involve minors, including cartoons and animation. The wider content rules prohibit copyright infringement and warez, unregistered investment sites, unlicensed money transfer and unlicensed TV rebroadcasting, and banking sites need prior verification and a contract. CPU mining is not permitted on VPS, and IRC and camfrog servers are prohibited because of denial-of-service attacks.
Copyright, abuse and service terms
DMCA handling is direct. The company may disable material that is reasonably deemed unacceptable or illegal or that has a takedown notice, and it may suspend service over unresolved DMCA complaints. The terms add that disabled material is re-enabled only after a counter claim, and that the company is the sole judge of what breaks the rules. Every abuse complaint must be answered within 48 hours, and failing to reply can end the account.
Invoices are due within 7 days, and each invoice prints a grace period. Cards on file, PayPal and check or money order are accepted. A service suspended after the grace period may not be reactivated. If a chargeback, reversal or payment dispute is filed, the company may cancel domains or services without notice and bill administrative fees to recover its costs.
Refunds depend on the product. Standard, Windows, Boost and WordPress web hosting can be refunded in full within 30 days of sign-up. Dedicated servers and colocation can be refunded before service is turned up, but the terms say they are built to specification and do not meet a 14-day cooling-off period once provisioning starts. VPS hosting has no trial or money-back guarantee, and refunds are not offered once service has started. Every service renews automatically, and cancellation needs at least 3 days' notice before the renewal date.
Email is tightly controlled. Port 25 is restricted and opened only on manual review, mailing-only servers are not allowed, mailing lists must be double opt-in, and servers with high complaint rates can be terminated without warning. The terms also reserve a $100 fee, as of October 2026, for IPs blacklisted through a breach of policy.
The SLA guarantees 99.9% network availability and 100% power availability each month, excluding scheduled maintenance. In October 2026 the SLA says credits for a missed guarantee are set case by case and do not exceed 50% of the base monthly fee, and a claim needs a ticket within 7 days of the outage.
Getting started and support
Onboarding starts in the control panel. The VPS flow asks the customer to choose the operating system, region, slice count and any control panel before the server is provisioned, and the pages list Linux templates such as AlmaLinux, Ubuntu, Debian and CentOS. Panel licenses are added in the My.InterServer portal after the server is ordered. The home page offers migration help for websites, apps, email and infrastructure. The terms also note that VPS and dedicated servers do not run backups by default, and remote backup storage is sold as an add-on.
Technical support runs 24/7. The terms set a goal of answering within 1 to 3 hours, with no guarantee on speed, and the storage page names phone, live chat and tickets as the channels. Billing, sales and development are separate departments and do not run around the clock, and physical hardware work is handled first come, first served.
Company and track record
The company says it has more than 26 years of hosting history and that it operates its own network, with multi-provider connectivity, BGP routing and peering. The team page says co-founder Mike Lavrik helped design the datacenter the company built in 2006. The datacenter page lists facilities in Secaucus, Carlstadt and Jersey City in New Jersey, at 365 Datacenters in Dallas and at Equinix LA3 in Los Angeles. The team page names a corporate abuse manager among the staff.
Who it suits
InterServer suits an adult operator who wants a VPS, a dedicated server, storage hardware or colocation in New York, Dallas or Los Angeles, with the adult rule written down and the 2257 condition stated in the terms. A tube or upload site that is outgrowing a VPS has a clear path to dedicated hardware with DDoS protection included, and a large media library fits the storage servers.
The caveats are clear in the terms. Adult content, tube scripts and upload sites are barred from shared hosting, VPS has no refund once it starts, and dedicated stock depends on location. Managed help only arrives at 8 VPS slices or on dedicated plans.
The strength of the offer is a long-running US platform with published prices at every step, owned network operations and 24/7 technical support.
