What the vendor is

AVN is the news and events brand of AVN Media Network, Inc., the company its record-keeping notice names as custodian of records for its websites. Its own tagline calls it the voice of the adult entertainment industry since 1983. The site's menus cover news, stars, movies, products, events, legal and GayVN, and its homepage describes it as adult industry news, reviews and events. For a site operator it works as a trade publication: a news feed with a Tech section and an Industry Wire for press releases, a company directory, a business expo in Las Vegas, and advertising and sponsorship packages sold to adult businesses. It sells no hosting, billing, video delivery or traffic product. The records address it publishes is in Chatsworth, California.

What it sells an operator

Advertising is the product an operator can buy. The homepage block "Advertise with AVN" promises to "Reach the adult industry's most engaged audience," which is AVN's own claim, and lists four formats. Display ads cover leaderboard, halfpage and rectangle placements across all pages. AVN Magazine ads are digital placements in the magazine, which the page says reach decision-makers. Newsletter advertising means dedicated sends and inline placements in the weekly newsletter. Event sponsorship covers title and stage sponsorships at AVN Expo, ANE and the Awards. Each format leads to a Contact sales button. No rate card, minimum spend, ad specs or booking terms are published, so pricing is by inquiry.

Events are the second product. The homepage events list runs ANE, the Adult Novelty Expo, and AVN Expo, the Adult Entertainment Expo, from Jan 20, 2027 in Las Vegas, the GayVN Awards on Jan 21, 2027 and the AVN Awards ceremony on Jan 23, 2027. The Adult Entertainment Expo's own site splits the week into a Business Expo from Jan 20 to 23 2027 with a Register button, a Pleasure Product Expo from Jan 20 to 22 2027, the AVN Awards Show, the GayVN Awards, a Fan Experience and The Village, the last four sold as tickets. Booth prices and exhibitor terms are not published.

The news side is what most operators will use day to day. The Tech section and the Industry Wire carry press releases from outside companies, each labeled "Press Release" with a date, a city line and the sending company's own wording; examples on the site cover an adult host launching tube site scripts, a cam network opening white-label sites to webmasters, a cam affiliate program changing its payout percentages and an adult site broker's event schedule. A Legal section covers court and regulatory news. Publications include AVN Magazine, offered as a digital edition, and CAMStar, which the homepage calls "The definitive guide to the creator economy in adult content." AVN Daily, the day's top adult industry news by email, has a sign-up box on every page, and the homepage also offers a weekly newsletter of news, reviews and event coverage.

The Companies section is a directory of adult businesses. Each company page shows a name, one or more categories, a location, a link to the company's website, a block of descriptive text and the AVN articles that mention the company; the categories seen include membership sites, video and DVD wholesalers, and talent and modeling agencies. How a company gets listed, and whether a listing or a press release costs anything, is not stated.

The terms that decide the choice

The adult content terms are the record-keeping notice and a footer line. The footer reads "All models 18+ at time of performance." The notice, titled the 18 U.S.C. § 2257 Compliance Notice and citing 28 C.F.R. Part 75, says AVN Media Network, Inc. keeps the required records at 9400 Penfield Ave., Chatsworth, CA 91311. It states that everyone appearing in a depiction of actual sexually explicit conduct on the websites was over 18 when it was created, and it applies the same statement to simulated sexual content and to every other visual depiction on the sites. For third-party content, the records are kept by the producer or distributor at the location disclosed with that content, and AVN relies on the representations, warranties and 2257 documentation those third parties supply. Some depictions are exempt because they show no actual sexually explicit conduct, form part of no such depiction, were produced before July 3, 1995, or are exempt for other reasons.

No acceptable-use policy for advertising creative is published, so an operator who wants to run adult creative should ask sales which material is accepted.

The DMCA page sends copyright takedown notices to AVN Media Network through a form. The notice should include the URL of the material, proof of ownership and the sender's contact details so the designated agent can respond, and other questions go through the general contact form. The page sets out no counter-notice process, repeat-infringer policy or response time.

No payment, contract, invoice or refund terms are published for advertising, sponsorship or listings. The newsletter sign-up links a privacy policy and offers unsubscribe at any time.

Getting started and support

The contact page is a single form with fields for name, email address, company and phone number (both optional), subject, department and message. The departments are AVN Award Nominations, AVN Magazine, Account and Registration, Awards Voting Issues, DMCA, Events, Licensing, Login Issues, Magazine Subscriptions, Marketing, Other, Press, Sales and Website Feedback. The page addresses editorial, sales and accounts questions and says the right department follows up. No email address or phone number is printed. A member who cannot log in or has lost a password is sent to the sign-in page, which resets passwords. The expo site has its own Contact Us form for technical questions and a Register button for the Business Expo.

Company and track record

AVN dates itself to 1983. The company name AVN Media Network, Inc. and the Chatsworth records address come from the notice, and the expo site carries the same company's copyright. The awards are part of the record: the AVN Awards and GayVN Awards are set for January 2027 in Las Vegas, and company pages in AVN's Companies section cite AVN Award wins of their own. No founder, executive or team is named.

Who it suits

AVN is a trade news and events company for the adult industry: news, a tech and press release channel, a company directory, a business expo and paid placement. A site operator who wants to follow industry and legal news, announce a launch to the trade, meet buyers and suppliers at the Las Vegas expo, or buy display, magazine, newsletter or event sponsorship placement will find each route set out. An operator who needs hosting, billing, a publisher program, a script or a white label will not, because AVN sells none of them.

The caveats are plain. Ad and sponsorship prices are by inquiry only, the DMCA page asks for the essentials without setting out a counter-notice process, and much of the news feed covers studios, products and performers rather than site technology.

The strength is breadth and age: a publication dating to 1983 with an expo, awards, a magazine, a daily newsletter and a public record-keeping notice that names its custodian and address.
