What OneID is

OneID Limited is a digital verification services provider registered in England and Wales, with a registered office in Manchester, according to the company's pages. Its adult page is headed "Bring anonymity and safety to age verification on adult sites" and the about page says the company confirms identity and age across several methods, matched to the platform and the audience. What an adult operator buys from it is the age check alone. The adult page places the check at the front of the site, where the operator needs a yes or no on 18+ before restricted areas open.

What it sells an operator

The core product is a yes or no on 18+ taken from the user's bank. The adult page describes a three-step journey: the user clicks the OneID button on the site, logs in to a mobile or online banking app, and consents to share confirmation that they are 18 or over. The page says the service is document-free and that "OneID does not access, store or share details of an individual's financial transactions." It also states that "no human is involved in the verification process" and that the API "only shares the information essential to verify an individual's age." The bank route is not the only option. The about page lists other methods the company offers: a document, an on-device facial age estimate, a check against the user's mobile network, a reusable credential held on a phone, and an international electronic identity. It says 5 of Ofcom's 7 highly effective age assurance methods are available through OneID, so an operator can pick a path for its audience. The adult page also says the product is "rated highly effective by Ofcom" with "99.99% accuracy" on 18+. That is the company's claim.

Integration comes in several forms. The adult page says the product "can be integrated and running within a day". The partner page lists integrators, resellers and developers as separate partnership routes, and the pricing page offers sandbox access to developers. The company names WooCommerce and Shopify integrations for online stores, where age checks can be added from the Shopify App Store.

Pricing is sold on volume. The pricing page offers a calculator where the buyer chooses a product and a monthly volume, and then asks for an email address before showing a price. The page prints no unit price. In October 2026 the pricing page gives the structure of the offer and no figure, and it directs buyers to a contact form for a plan.

The terms that decide the choice

The pages do not publish an adult content policy for the sites that use OneID, and they do not say which kinds of adult site the company accepts. The adult page is written for adult sites under the UK Online Safety Act and says the solution can be used globally.

On certification, the company says it is certified under the UK government's Digital Verification Services Trust Framework as an identity service provider. Its accreditations page describes OneID as the first orchestration service provider certified under the framework, and the first to be certified as a holder service provider in 2025. The age section names PAS 1296: 2018, the age check certification scheme, which the page describes as an independent certification that a person is 18 or above. The company is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority as a Registered Account Information Service Provider.

The terms of service set the commercial rules. A customer buys a monthly minimum commit transaction volume in advance of the service starting. Transactions above that volume are billed as overages, invoiced in arrears at the end of the month. Unused volume is not carried over to the next calendar month, and transaction volume is measured by calendar month. Amounts exclude VAT. If payment is not received within 14 days after the due date, the company may suspend the service until the sums are paid. The company may change its fees and will give notice.

The contract runs for an initial term of 1 year and then renews on a rolling basis, unless either party gives no less than 90 days written notice. The company may end the agreement immediately by written notice for a material breach that cannot be remedied or, if it can be remedied, is not fixed within 30 days of notice, and also for insolvency or non-payment of fees.

Liability is capped. For any single transaction, the company's liability is limited to the fee it charged for that transaction. In total, in any calendar month, it is limited to the fees the customer paid in that month. The terms also say the company will use reasonable efforts to keep the service available, but cannot guarantee that it will be error-free and uninterrupted, and that maintenance and outside events can cause interruptions.

On data, the terms allow the company to create aggregated data from use of the service, provided that data is anonymous or de-personalized, as far as applicable law permits. Each party acts as an independent controller of the personal data it processes, and the individual privacy notice governs user data. No refund terms are given beyond the fee rules above.

Complaints go to a published policy: the company acknowledges each complaint and sends a final response within 15 business days, or within 35 business days in exceptional cases, and the policy points to the Financial Ombudsman Service as the next step.

Getting started and support

Setup begins with the pricing calculator and a business form. The form asks for the registered name of the business, its registration number, its VAT number, and a contact person, and it requires acceptance of the terms before submission.

Support is split. The terms say the customer provides first-line support to its own users, and the company provides second-line support to designated customer contacts only. Requests carry a priority level from P1 to P3, and the company may change those levels at its discretion. Target response times, in business hours only, are 1 hour for a critical outage, 4 hours for a major impact and 8 hours for a low-impact issue. Support runs Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00, excluding UK bank holidays, and is given in English; requests sent outside those hours are handled the next business day. System status and incident updates are posted on a status page, and designated contacts are managed in the company's management console. The contact page points to a developer documentation site, a help center and a contact form.

Company and track record

The carbon reduction plan, dated December 2025, is signed by Karl MacGregor as chief executive. The company describes itself as a certified B Corporation and lists membership of techUK and a founding role in the Age Verification Providers Association. It is an approved supplier to UK public-sector buyers through the Crown Commercial Service, and it is accredited by ACCS. The partner page lists integrations with a document signing product and with e-commerce platforms. The pages give no founding year.

Who it suits

Age verification is the only category. OneID fits an adult site that wants a document-free check that a visitor can finish from a bank login in a few steps, and an operator that expects a fixed monthly volume and wants a single provider for several age methods. The certification history, the PAS 1296 scheme and the Ofcom rating on its own pages give an operator specific items to check in its compliance file.

It fits less well where the operator needs published unit prices before it talks to sales, an adult content policy from the vendor, or reserve and payout terms on the same pages. A user without a mobile or online banking login cannot use the bank route, so the operator needs another method for that user, and the company's wider list covers one. Unused monthly volume is lost, overages are billed in arrears, and support stops outside UK business hours.

The main draw is the range of certified methods behind one integration. The bank route is quick for the user, the document and facial routes cover users without a bank login, and the regulatory standing is set out on its accreditations page.
