What the vendor is

AgeChecked is an age verification provider run by AgeChecked Ltd, a company registered in the UK under company number 10016216, with London addresses on its pages. It sells checks that confirm a visitor is old enough before access to restricted content or a purchase. Its adult page is written for members of the adult industry, from a single paysite to an operator running a large network of sites, and its news section carries a post on age verification for paysites, the sites that charge for access to content. The homepage lists Adult Content first among the sectors it serves, followed by e-commerce, gambling, pharmaceutical and charity, so the adult offer is one sector of a general age checking business rather than a separate adult platform. For a site operator the service sits inside the sign-up or payment flow. AgeChecked sells no hosting, billing or traffic product.

What it sells an operator

The site groups its solutions under the headings Verification, Authentication and Ongoing Monitoring. The core route for an operator is the AgeChecked API, which the plugin page says verifies a customer's age with no disruption to the customer journey. The homepage says a check can be completed at any point during a visit to a website, so an operator can place it at the entry to a members' area, at sign-up or at checkout.

The adult page adds a hands-on service. It says AgeChecked works "behind the scenes" with a site's payment processors, web developers and management team and can streamline the whole onboarding process. Among the example questions the page invites in a consultation are how a check affects rebills on recurring customers, and how to roll age verification out across a large network of sites with the fewest points of friction for new visitors. For businesses with heavier needs, the contact page says the solution scales from something light touch to a full-scale AML.

For online stores there is a WooCommerce plugin, downloaded from the WordPress store. The plugin page says it is free to use and that AgeChecked charges only for the verification checks run on age-restricted products. In October 2026 the same page lists the plugin at £40.00 per month for 100 checks, presented as a starting price, with the checks sold as monthly service plan credit packs. Activating the plugin requires an AgeChecked merchant account, and the page sends store owners to its sales team to open one. The API and the full service are priced on request through the demo and contact forms.

The homepage makes several performance claims of its own. It says AgeChecked uses more methods and national data sets than any other provider, all from permissioned data sources, and offers a wider range of verification options than any other provider so that more visitors can complete a check. The plugin page says its national data sets and proprietary technology give the highest level of match rates. These are the vendor's statements, made without figures.

The terms that decide the choice

AgeChecked addresses adult operators directly. The adult page opens by speaking to members of the adult industry, says the team has worked with adult businesses for 11 years, and says its existing clients include businesses that market adult products alongside gambling and other high-risk products. It publishes no acceptable use policy and no content rules for the adult sites it serves.

Data handling is the term the vendor puts first. The homepage says it makes consumer anonymity a priority: its system anonymizes users throughout the process and keeps no personal data on the system. For a site whose visitors are wary of handing identity details to an adult brand, that is the central selling point. The plugin page says AgeChecked is fully compliant with regulatory and industry standards, naming GDPR and BSI's PAS1296, and offers an opt-in Co-ordinated Partnership that gives a business extra protection from its local Trading Standards. Those statements sit on the retail plugin page and are the vendor's own.

Because AgeChecked sells checks rather than payments, the reserve, chargeback and payout terms that matter for a biller do not arise. The contract length and minimum term of the monthly plan are not set out on the pages, and neither is the content of a check record.

Getting started and support

The adult page asks operators to book a free consultation through its form or a demo, and says a member of the team will come back shortly. It says the team is available at a time convenient to the operator in any time zone. Store owners start by downloading the plugin from the WordPress store and contacting sales to open the merchant account the plugin needs. After launch, existing clients reach a Client Services team through a dedicated contact route, while visitors who have trouble getting checked are sent to a separate User Support route. The integration routes named on the pages are the API and the WooCommerce plugin.

Company and track record

AgeChecked Ltd lists 124-128 City Road in London as its company address, and the contact page gives a second London address on Clerkenwell Green. The adult page says the team has helped clients with age verification since 2014, covering the originally planned UK rollout, which UK politicians later rescinded, and the US state rollouts that followed in Louisiana, Utah, Texas and others. It says the team has been in direct contact with political leaders, industry leaders and billing and legal experts. Chief executive Alastair Graham is quoted on the adult page arguing that the adult industry should work directly with the people implementing age verification rather than leave it to outside entities. The homepage title calls the service UK government approved, and the site has pages for its technology partners, compliance partners and certifications. The news section covers the adult industry's response to age verification and the privacy design of its checks.

Who it suits

AgeChecked sits under age verification and under adult lawyers and compliance. Under age verification it offers checks through an API placed anywhere in a site's flow and a plugin for WooCommerce stores. Under compliance, the adult page frames the service around the regulatory questions that age verification rollouts raise for adult operators, from the US state laws to rebilling of recurring members, and offers a free consultation with its team on them.

The service fits a paysite or network that wants a checking step built into its sign-up or payment flow with help from a team that knows the adult sector, and an adult store on WooCommerce that wants to pay per check through a monthly pack. It fits less well where an operator wants published volume pricing or written contract terms before the first call, since the API is priced by quote. The vendor's strongest card is a privacy model that keeps no personal data, backed by 11 years of work with adult operators.
