What MIDs is

MIDs describes itself as boutique payment processing for high-risk merchants. For an adult site operator it is a placement and orchestration company: it connects a merchant with acquiring banks that accept the vertical, then runs the gateway, fraud scoring, chargeback tooling and reporting on top. Its adult page names these kinds of operator: cam and live-streaming sites, subscription fan platforms, adult video on demand and clip stores, and adult retail and wellness brands. Dating has its own page.

The terms of service draw a line worth reading early. MIDs, LLC and Mids Holding B.V. operate the site, MIDs acts as a registered sales agent in the United States and a registered Independent Sales Organization in Europe, and the terms state that MIDs is not a licensed payment institution or merchant acquirer. Payment services are provided with regulated acquiring banks and licensed payment service providers under separate agreements. Headquarters are in Wilmington, Delaware, with a European office in Amsterdam.

What it sells an operator

The adult page describes access to what it calls adult-experienced acquiring banks, with underwriting teams that treat adult as a vertical rather than an exception. Around that sit these products. Orchestration spreads transactions across the bank network and picks a bank for each by approval rate, geography, cost and card type, shifting traffic to backup acquirers automatically when one bank takes action, with a custom rules engine for routing logic. The payment gateway takes payments through hosted checkout, API or SDK, with 3-D Secure 2.0, tokenization and a card updater. Fraud management scores each transaction in real time. Chargeback protection combines alerts, evidence collection and representment. Analytics reports approval rates, decline reasons, dispute trends and payouts in real time.

Adult-specific features are listed plainly. Discreet billing puts a customizable, neutral descriptor on the customer's statement instead of an adult-content name, configured with the acquirer at onboarding. Recurring memberships include trials and cancellation flows. Dispute defense uses login, IP and access-history evidence. Payment methods go beyond cards to ACH and e-check, crypto and e-wallets; the homepage names Visa, Mastercard, Amex, PIX, UPI, SEPA, iDEAL, Apple Pay, Google Pay, open banking, Boleto and OXXO among 200+ methods, and the pricing page includes 150+ currencies across 90+ countries with every account. Creator payouts run by ACH, international wire, crypto and e-wallet to performers in 90+ countries, with tax documents handled through integrated partners.

Developers get a REST API with webhooks, SDKs for Python, PHP, Node.js, Java and Ruby, a sandbox with simulated acquiring responses, and WooCommerce, Shopify and Magento plugins.

Pricing and cost structure

Pricing is built from industry, monthly volume, geography, processing history and regulatory standing, and the pricing page says it is not a fixed rate card. In October 2026 the adult page shows indicative transaction fees of 3.5-6%. The pricing page lists three bands by monthly volume. Starter, from $100K a month, is IC++ 3.5% per transaction with access to 10+ acquiring banks. Growth, from $500K, is IC++ 2.3% with 20+ banks and advanced chargeback tools. Enterprise, from $2MM a month, is quoted as low as IC++ 1% with orchestration across 30+ banks. The page header and the contact page give IC++ 1.9% as the starting figure for the same $2MM+ merchants, so the bands differ by page and the quote is what counts.

The structural terms are easier to rely on. The pricing page lists no setup fees, no monthly minimums, no cancellation fees and no long-term contracts. As read in October 2026, disputes are handled at $25 each, and converting currency adds a +1% FX fee when settling in a different currency. The adult page frames the service as built for adult businesses processing $100K+ monthly, so a very small site is outside the stated range. Payout timing is given as settlements as soon as T+3 on Starter and as soon as next-day on Growth, with same-day payouts available on Enterprise depending on the industry. The pages do not publish reserve terms or the contract each acquiring bank issues; MIDs says merchants receive a proposal during sales and an agreement with the fees defined once the account is pre-approved.

Terms that decide the choice

Adult policy. MIDs says mainstream processors prohibit adult content in their terms and that adult merchants need banks that accept it. It explains that since April 2022 Mastercard has required adult platforms to show age verification for all participants and consumers, documented consent from everyone depicted, and a functioning content-takedown process, and that acquiring banks review these controls during onboarding and periodically after. MIDs says it connects operators who have implemented these controls with acquirers, and that compliance partners are available where controls are missing. The feature list adds age verification 18+ and ID checks through integrated partners, and 2257 record-keeping supported.

Chargebacks. The pages name the "I don't recognize this charge" dispute as the main trigger for adult subscriptions and describe layers against it: discreet descriptors, pre-dispute alerts that let a merchant refund before a formal chargeback, and cancellation-flow changes. They also describe monitoring against Visa and Mastercard thresholds, and the products page claims the company's risk layer keeps chargeback ratios across its merchant portfolio well inside the Visa and Mastercard limits it quotes. The adult page also carries an anonymized client story in which discreet billing sharply cut unrecognized-charge disputes; the page gives no client name.

Terminated merchants. MIDs says adult is one of the most common verticals for MATCH and TMF placement and that it works with banks that review listed merchants case by case. It credits a consultancy called Spurlead for this specialty and says pricing for listed merchants depends on the circumstances of the listing.

Getting started and support

An operator applies through the site, tells MIDs its model, monthly volume and markets, and receives advice on acquiring structure, discreet billing and the payment methods to use. Sales and technical support have separate email contacts. Business hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 7pm CET, with 24/7 support for Enterprise clients. The Enterprise tier adds 24/7 phone support, the Growth tier priority support and the Starter tier email support.

Company and track record

The about page is headed "since 1997", claims 25+ years in high-risk payments and 50+ boutique clients, and lists a founder and CEO, a co-founder, a chief technology officer, partnerships and merchant support leads and a compliance officer. The homepage timeline explains the dates: in 1997 the owners started at DMR, an earlier US online payment processor; Spurlead, a consultancy for terminated merchants, was established in 2008 and still operates; and MIDs itself was created in 2022. The homepage also claims an 80%+ approval rate and T+3-7 payouts as its own figures.

Who it suits

MIDs covers adult payment processing and high-risk merchant accounts in one offer. It fits an established paysite, cam network or fan platform that has outgrown a single processor, has been closed by a mainstream one, or sits on a MATCH list and needs a bank that reads the case individually. It also fits operators who want ACH, crypto and creator payouts alongside cards. The caveats are real: a stated minimum monthly volume that leaves out a small site, rates quoted rather than fixed, and terms that say MIDs is not itself a licensed acquirer. The strength is the breadth of adult-specific tooling, from descriptors to performer payouts, behind one application and one multi-bank network.
