What the vendor is

101domain is a domain registrar. The footer names 101domain GRS Limited as the company behind the site, registered in Ireland under number 532923, and the company says it has been an ICANN accredited registrar since 2007 and a domain and service provider since 1999. Its corporate office is in Dublin, Ireland, with a United States office in Vista, California. For a site operator the reason to look at it is narrow: it sells the 4 adult generic top-level domains, .adult, .porn, .sex and .xxx, inside a wider catalog of domain names, transfers and renewals, plus hosting, email and security products that sit on the same account. The .adult page pitches the extension to porn businesses directly, calling .ADULT domains "the natural choice for online porn websites and services".

What it sells an operator

The adult extensions are sold as domain registrations, with no hosting attached. Terms run 1 to 10 years and registration is shown as instant. In October 2026 the .adult page lists registration at 147.99 USD per year, renewal at 183.99 USD per year and transfer at 147.99 USD per year, and the adult-domains page gives 147.99 USD per year as the starting price for each of the 4 extensions. A full renewal and transfer schedule is printed for .adult only, so an operator planning on .porn, .sex or .xxx has a starting price to go on and should ask for the renewal figure before buying.

The .adult page also lists DNSSEC as supported, with a guide on adding it, and it offers Private Registration for the extension. Its blocking service, described as part of GlobalBlock, lets a brand owner block registrations on a trademark across .adult and the other ICM Registry extensions. The registry for .adult is named on the same page as ICM Registry, and the technical table carries an "Information updated" date of 2025-10-31. When a name is taken, the page says the operator can modify the phrase or inquire about buying the name outright through the Domain Concierge Service.

Beyond registration, the menu lists transfers, renewals, bulk domain search, a price list, domain acquisition and brokerage, and a Domain API and MCP Server. Under hosting it lists a Virtual Private Server and a Dedicated Server, both marked new, plus Google Workspace, Gmail for Business and an Easy Website Builder. The Secure Web Accelerator is described as powered by Cloudflare. The Cloudflare Enterprise page lists Zero Trust Network Access, Cache Analytics, Waiting Rooms, Argo Smart Routing, Network Prioritization and Page Shield among the features reserved for that plan, sold as a tailored package with "predictable flat-rate pricing" and either managed or self-directed. The site also sells SSL/TLS certificates from Sectigo, managed DMARC through OnDMARC, registry locks, attack surface monitoring and certificate monitoring.

For a larger portfolio, the domain name services page describes defensive domain blocking of a trademarked term "across hundreds of TLDs", portfolio management, and Trademark Clearinghouse validation. The launch hub page says the team helps submit a mark to the Trademark Clearinghouse for priority registration during Sunrise periods of new extensions.

The terms that decide the choice

No adult content policy or acceptable use rule for the 4 extensions appears on the registrar's pages. The .adult page calls the extension "exclusively for adult eyes only" and says it is the only domain on the market with its own warning label, but it sets no rule on what a registrant may publish under it. The eligibility lines say that individuals and businesses can both register.

Expiry follows a set order on the .adult page. It gives a renewal grace period of 40 days, described as a period in which a domain can be renewed without an additional fee. It then gives a redemption period of 30 days. In October 2026 the same schedule describes the redemption period as the time in which a domain can be renewed for an additional $150 USD, so an operator who lets a name lapse should expect that charge.

Privacy is handled by Private Registration, which the page says shields personal details from public view and keeps spam from advertisers away. The same table lists Trustee/Proxy Service as No for .adult, while the footer names Trustee and Proxy Services among the corporate services, so an operator who wants a proxy registrant on an adult name should raise it with the account team.

Cancellations, refunds, expired domains and renewals are handled through a support ticket, which the contact page names as the approved route for sensitive domain information. The home page says brand clients get "No binding contracts or hidden information", with terms and pricing described as transparent and predictable.

On copyright, the company's blog post on DMCA takedowns, dated October 15, 2019, sets out the notice a copyright owner must send to a host or service provider. It lists the elements a notice must contain, including a statement made under penalty of perjury, says a notice that does not comply can be ignored, and describes the counter notice an accused site owner can file after removal. The post says the DMCA applies to websites hosted in the United States and that the company's brand enforcement team can advise copyright holders. The footer links a Report Abuse page, though the registrar's own abuse procedure for registrants is not set out.

Getting started and support

Account sign-in offers Google, Microsoft, Okta and OneLogin as ways to continue. To register, an operator searches for the name, adds it to the cart and registers it for up to 10 years. The .adult page says the extension supports multiple language formats, with Arabic, Chinese, German, Russian and Spanish among the languages it lists, and a name in another script is searched with that character set.

Transfers are covered in the knowledge base, which includes steps for transferring a domain in and for disabling a transfer lock; the help site calls itself a 24/7 support center. DNS changes such as CNAME, TXT and A records also go through a ticket. Live chat and phone support run weekdays from 5am to 5pm Pacific time, and the international line runs weekdays from 12:00 to 2:00 UTC. An emergency line is listed for use outside business hours. Clients with a dedicated account executive get a direct line to the account team, access to engineers, faster responses than general support, and help with bulk actions, renewals, documents and transfers.

Company and track record

The company's own pages state that 101domain has been an ICANN accredited registrar since 2007, describe it as a provider since 1999, and carry a footer copyright range from 1999 to 2026. The domain name services page says the company is a SOC 2 Type II certified provider. Its partnerships page names Cloudflare, Sectigo, Google as a Premier Partner for Google Workspace, Amazon Web Services, Plesk, OnDMARC and Basekit, and calls 101domain a long-standing partner of the International Trademark Association. The same page says the company acquired Join.Law, a provider of .law domains, in 2019, provides the technology and marketing for the storefronts of the .GOP and .FILM registries, and runs the platform behind the .edu zone. The about page says the company serves tens of thousands of clients and offers dedicated account managers, which are the company's own claims.

Who it suits

It suits an operator who holds a portfolio of domains and wants the adult extensions in the same account as DNS, DNSSEC, registry locks, defensive blocking and certificates. A brand owner protecting one trademark across several extensions gets the most from the GlobalBlock product and the Trademark Clearinghouse filing. It fits less well for an operator who needs a written content rule for the adult extensions before buying, or a proxy registrant on a .adult name. Pricing is a further caveat: only .adult carries a full price table, and .porn, .sex and .xxx show a starting price only. Its strongest published point is breadth, with the adult extensions sitting beside registry locks, DNSSEC, defensive blocking and dedicated account executives for larger portfolios.
